Why Simpatico?

1: AGREEABLE, LIKEABLE

2: having shared qualities, interests, etc.: LIKE-MINDED, SYMPATHETIC

Attention to detail isn’t the only thing that makes a great editor: it’s how we work together as a team. The author/editor relationship should be sympathetic, agreeable, and enjoyable.

I learned to read at four years of age and I’ve never looked back. Since then, I have been an inveterate, omnivorous, and voracious reader of all genres for over forty years, eagerly digesting multiple books each week. What do I love? Language so beautiful I must pause to hear it sing. A story so fine I lose myself and walk within it. A thesis so dense I must chew the ideas until I can integrate them into new building blocks of knowledge.

I freelanced for Proofed but decided to go my own way so I could offer personalised service to my clients with as much back-and-forth as needed for each project. I am also an English language teacher and IELTS coach with many years of experience. I’m a member of The Editorial Freelancers Association and The Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading and work in both US and UK English. My background in education enables me to facilitate the journey from thought to well-turned phrase. I have a passion for language and a penchant for grammar. A creative fit between the author and the editor is key, and I will preserve your authorial voice. I will give you honest, sensitive, and respectful input. Your voice, my expertise.
